I'm Neveah Baranko, owner and trainer at Plum Creek Canines.

My passion for animals started on my family’s ranch and grew through years of raising and showing animals in 4H. I started Plum Creek Canines in July of 2024 and am so thankful for the support I’ve received from the community. What I enjoy most about this work is digging into the details of behavior and seeing the progress that comes with consistency. It’s rewarding to watch owners build stronger connections with their dogs and with each other along the way.
I have three wonderful dogs of my own:

Maya, a Great Pyrenees mix, was my foundational dog for understanding the complexities of canine behavior, she enjoys her days on the family ranch.

Buko, a Belgian Tervuren, and I enjoy participating in a variety of activities, including scentwork, rally, obedience, bikejoring, canicross, and more!

Hopak, my other Belgian Tervuren, is still young, but we have high hopes for sports and showing!

Both Buko and Hopak frequently appear in helpful “how-to” videos sent to clients and act as demonstration dogs.

I’m committed to continuing education and regularly attend seminars, webinars, clinics, and courses to stay current on best practices.
At Plum Creek Canines, our daycare and boarding services are designed around your dog’s individual  needs- whether that’s structure, play, or one-on-one enrichment. Your dog’s safety, fulfillment, and happiness come first.

I am a proud leader of Plum Creek Paws, a local 4H group for youth and their dogs. I am also a member of the International Association for Canine Professionals.

Practical training for happy dogs and happy owners:

My approach is positive reinforcement-based, focused on building trust, confidence, and a strong bond between dog and owner. I prioritize creating confident, functional dogs that are eager to work with you, make good choices, and move smoothly through daily life. Much of my training is choice-based, giving dogs structured opportunities to make decisions, learn at their own pace, and build confidence in a supportive environment. Before training begins, I consider a dog’s health, habits, and environment, as addressing these factors often reduces the need for behavior changes and sets both dogs and owners up for success. While positive reinforcement is the foundation of my work, I may occasionally use brief, carefully applied corrections when it helps prevent greater stress or supports long-term learning, always keeping the dog’s well-being as the priority.

Every dog is unique, and each program is tailored to the individual dog’s temperament, history, and goals. Even within a Board & Train or ongoing program, no two dogs are trained in exactly the same way. I primarily work with basic pet obedience, foundational training, puppies, and reactive dogs, focusing on teaching dogs to respond reliably and confidently rather than relying solely on repeated commands. At the same time, I coach owners to understand their dog, communicate effectively, and maintain progress long-term. Using a thoughtful blend of positive reinforcement and pressure-and-release techniques, I help dogs learn in a clear, enjoyable, and low-stress way. Lasting success requires consistent practice at home, and my programs are designed to create a long-term partnership where both dogs and owners thrive together beyond the initial training.

A peek at the Plum Creek Canines facility . . .

And why we don't do tours of the facility!

Plum Creek Canines sits on over six acres at the eastern edge of Dickinson, ND, giving dogs plenty of room to run, play, and relax. Our facility includes a kennel room and a training room. The training room is a flexible space for training, enrichment, structured play, or simply a calm spot for dogs to spend time.

Each dog has their own kennel for safety. Our kennels are intentionally smaller than at many traditional facilities, since dogs here spend most of their day engaged in a variety of activities outside their kennels. Kennels are used mainly for rest and sleep, helping maintain a healthy balance between activity and downtime.

We do not offer in-person tours, as we maintain Plum Creek Canines as a true safe space for nervous and reactive dogs. To keep this environment calm, owners stay in their vehicles at drop-off while we come out to meet their dog and collect supplies. We’re always happy to answer any questions to give you peace of mind.
