One-on-One Training, Designed for You and Your Dog
Private Training Sessions: $50/hour-long session
Private training sessions are one of the most effective ways to build lasting skills with your dog because they’re designed to teach you as much as your dog. In each session, we work on reinforcement, preventing unwanted behaviors, management strategies, enrichment, and exercise, while also looking at the bigger picture of how to apply those skills across different situations, environments, and everyday routines. You’ll learn how your dog thinks, learns, and reacts, giving you the confidence to guide them in any setting. The result is more than better behavior: it’s a stronger partnership built on understanding and teamwork.
Private training requires a minimum of four sessions to get started, with each session lasting approximately one hour. Sessions can take place in your home, at Plum Creek Canines, or at another dog-friendly location that fits your goals. We recommend beginning with four consecutive weekly sessions to build consistency and momentum, then adjusting the schedule as needed based on your progress and ongoing training goals. This approach ensures both you and your dog have the support and guidance needed to set up for lasting success.

Training: An Ongoing Journey
Training is an ongoing journey. Dogs continue to learn and grow throughout their lives, and every household change or new experience can bring new challenges. Private sessions provide the guidance and tools you need to navigate those changes confidently, helping you stay consistent and proactive with your dog’s learning. After completing the initial set of four sessions, you can book additional sessions whenever you need, whether it’s to revisit skills, address new behaviors, or reinforce what your dog already knows. Because behaviors are always evolving, having access to ongoing support ensures you never feel stuck or unsure, and I’m here to help you maintain progress and strengthen your relationship with your dog for years to come.

Private sessions are great for:
-
Young puppies starting their foundation training
-
Reactive or overexcited dogs
-
Dogs with aggression concerns
-
Dogs struggling with grooming or handling
-
Specific training goals, like improving recall or loose-leash walking
-
Building stronger communication and structure at home
-
Shy, fearful, or anxious dogs needing confidence building
-
Dog enthusiasts who want to go beyond basics and keep learning new skills
And more!
Consistency is key!
Like all training, private sessions take time, consistency, and repetition—you won’t see a complete behavior change in just a few weeks. That’s why a minimum of four sessions is required to get started, though planning for closer to ten sessions over time is recommended to see lasting results. These may be spread out over several months or even a year, depending on your goals. We begin with four weekly sessions to build momentum, then shift into a more flexible schedule as needed.
Consistency is the key to progress. That means:
-
Continuing to use the skills learned
-
Maintaining the structure and routines created
-
Practicing regularly between sessions
-
Being patient with the process of change
-
Being ready for a long term commitment

Private training works best when owners are genuinely committed to the process and excited to be part of their dog’s learning journey. Long-term results come from consistency, patience, and teamwork. When everyone stays engaged, the payoff is a stronger bond and a dog who can thrive in everyday life.
